The Committees

Executive Committee is formed by the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and two Secretaries together, taking care of association’s daily rutines. Coordinator: Stephen Chan. Members: Catherine Driscoll, Susanna Paasonen, Helene Strauss, Laura Antola.

The Conference Committee deals with the Crossroads conference and the Summer Institute: identifying sites, negotiating agreements, working with the local programming committee to develop the conference, and administering the assistance scheme for individual ACS members who need support for their participation. Members: Stephen Chan (coordinator), Catherine Driscoll, Susanna Paasonen, Fan Yang, Kris Rutten, Laura Antola.

The Communications and Membership Committee organises the resources for communication, dialogue and the dissemination of information between ACS members and towards the external world (mailing lists, website, newsletter etc.), as well as for developing the relations to publishers, journals and to other associations in the field. The Committee explores new channels of communication for the ACS members. Members: Helene Strauss (coordinator), Catherine Driscoll, Matt Jordan, Rob Cover, Aljosar Puzar, Janneka Adema, Laura Antola.

The Financial Committee works with issues concerning the budget, funding and membership fees. Coordinator: Susanna Paasonen.

The ACS Development Committee strives to find ways to strengthen the Association in areas of the world where our enrolment is low and/or where formal support for cultural studies scholarship is weak.
