An Introduction from the Chair

Welcome to the Third International Crossroads in Cultural Studies Conference. The Birmingham Research Centre for Cultural Studies and Sociology is especially pleased to be hosting this Conference in the year 2000, which will bring together scholars working in the broad and increasingly expanding interdisciplinary area of Cultural Studies. Our distinguished Plenary Speakers and the session proposals already received include the presentation of important new work, as well as reflections on existing paradigms and practices from many locations. I encourage you to submit papers to the sessions or to propose new sessions.
